Welcome to Ear Harmony
Your Hearing Health Matters
Ear Harmony offers gentle syringing using water irrigation, to free your ears from excess wax build-up that can lead to blockages and impact on your hearing, ensuring your ears are clean, clear and cared for.

Do I need earwax removal?

If you answer yes to one or more of these questions, you may have excessive earwax.
. Do you have difficulty hearing?
. Does your hearing feel muffled or have a feeling of fullness?
. Do you have earache, dizziness or tinnitus?
What happens if earwax is not removed?
If excess ear wax is not removed, it can lead to a build up of impacted wax and make your symptoms worse. If you answered Yes to any of the above questions, contact me to have your ears checked.
Symptoms of impacted earwax
- Difficulty hearing
- Feeling of fullness in the ear
- Muffled hearing
- Itching in the ear
- Dizziness
- Coughing
- Tinnitus (a ringing sound)
- Ear discharge
- Earache or pain
These symptoms should ease or go away once the earwax has been removed.
When to see a GP or Pharmacist:
In some instances, ear wax removal may not be performed, and we advise that you seek medical advice before having ear irrigation.
Please gain advice prior to booking an appintment if any of the following apply:
- An ear infection within the last 30 days
- A current or recurrent ear infection
- Pain within the last 30 days (if not related to ear wax buildup)
- Past operations in or around the ear
- Any suspected foreign body in the ear
- Suspected perforated eardrum
- Grommets fitted
- Any fluid or discharge in the last 30 days
If any of conditions apply to you, please do not use any ear drops unless under medical advice.

Before You come in:
To ensure a comfortable and effective procedure, Ear Harmony recommends Sodium Bicarbonate ear drops or Olive Oil ear drops (available through Ear Harmony or a Pharmacy) to be applied to the affected ear for up to 5 days before the procedure.
Please follow the manufacturers instructions on the packaging.

What to expect at your appointment
On arrival, a conversation will be had to gain a better understanding of your symptoms and any relevant medical history.
- Your ears will be examined using an Otoscope (magnifier with a light).
- The procedure will be explained to you and consent gained before we go ahead with the procedure.
- The ears are checked following the procedure to ensure the ear canals are clear.
- If the procedure is not successful, you will be advised as to your next steps.
- The whole procedure should last approximately 30 - 40 minutes.

Prevention of Earwax Buildup:
1. Dry your ears after bathing, showering or swimming to prevent infections which can make wax issues worse.
2. Do not use cotton ear buds in the ear as this can push the wax deeper into the canal or potentially perforate your eardrum.
3. Use medicated ear drops every now and again to keep earwax soft and avoid build up.
4. Regular checkups of your ears if you have experienced build up in the past.
